When you hear about a group of people hitting the Jersey Shore, you don't usually picture them doing good deeds. Rather, the Jersey Shore is notorious for its out-of-control party lifestyle. But, with so many partiers tossing butts, beer cans and God knows what other paraphernalia every which way; it certainly could use a couple of do-gooders to come in and clean up the place. Not afraid of rolling up their sleeves, working up a little sweat and getting a little dirty, Mercedes-Benz USA decided to take on the job themselves.

We're not talking about one or two people doing all the work, either. Nearly two-hundred Mercedes-Benz employees joined Clean Ocean Action to do a little beach beatification.

Clean Ocean Action, for those Mercedes-Benz drivers in the Atlanta area not familiar with the organization, is dedicated to improving the quality of compromised marine water off the NJ and NY coastline. Mercedes-Benz USA decided to join forces with Clean Ocean Action, in an effort to reach their goal of performing 125 acts of community service in 2011.

Why did Mercedes-Benz commit to giving so much of themselves in a single year? As untraditional as it sounds, the goal was set in part to celebrate the 125^th invention of the automobile. Instead of celebrating solely themselves and the contributions they've made to the auto industry over the years, Mercedes-Benz is giving back. And perhaps, more impressive, they're trying to counterbalance some of the not-so-environmentally-friendly side effects of conventional gas-powered automobiles.

We don't know about you, but Mercedes-Benz of South Atlanta believes this to be the most unexpected and pleasant, not to mention humble, way to celebrate success.
